No shocking result in a game in Kursk where third ranked Rusichi K. (13-7) defeated bottom-ranked Tegas DR (3-17) 85-76 on Saturday. Rusichi K. shot 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Tegas DR only scored six points from the stripe. Rusichi K. forced 37 Tegas DR turnovers. Strangely Tegas DR outrebounded Rusichi K. 50-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rusichi K. made 7 blocks. Forward Anton Belov (202-81) scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and guard Kazulin Roman (187-94) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Klim Muskulis (185-88) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and forward Viktor Dyachenko (198-92) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Rusichi K. maintains third position with 13-7 record having two points less than leader Dynamo-MGTU. Tegas DR lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Rusichi K. will meet Magnitka-Univ. (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Tegas DR will play against the league's leader Dynamo-MGTU and hope to secure a win.
