Regular Season Round 12: PEAC-Pecs - Cegledi EKK 87-74

The most important game in the last round took place in Pecs between third ranked Cegledi EKK (7-4) and sixth ranked PEAC-Pecs (8-4) on Sunday night. Cegledi EKK was defeated by PEAC-Pecs on the road 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by PEAC-Pecs. Cegledi EKK managed to win third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PEAC-Pecs dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cegledi EKK's 42. They outrebounded Cegledi EKK 35-18 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Serbian-Bosnian center Dragana Stankovic (195-95, agency: IPSA) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian Maja Skoric (185-89, agency: IPSA) who recorded 20 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Jelena Maksimovic (192-82, agency: IPSA) added 15 points respectively. Five PEAC-Pecs and four Cegledi EKK players scored in double figures. PEAC-Pecs moved-up to fourth place. Cegledi EKK at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. PEAC-Pecs are looking forward to face bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (#10) in Budapest in the next round where they are favorite. Cegledi EKK will play at home against Miskolc (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
