Regular Season Round 13: PINKK-Pecsi - UNI Gyor 74-66

The game between second ranked UNI Gyor (10-3) and fifth ranked PINKK-Pecsi (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. UNI Gyor was defeated by PINKK-Pecsi in a tough game in Pecs 66-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of UNI Gyor. UNI Gyor was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. PINKK-Pecsi dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UNI Gyor's 28 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by UNI Gyor helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Cierra Joenell Robertson-Warren (193, college: Louisville) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and American-Armenian swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU) added 21 points in the effort for UNI Gyor. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PINKK-Pecsi maintains fifth place with 8-5 record, which they share with Cegledi EKK. UNI Gyor at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. PINKK-Pecsi is looking forward to face higher ranked Miskolc (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UNI Gyor will play against Vasas Akademia and is hoping to win this game.
