PBL top team - UMMC Ekaterinburg (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Dyn.-GUVD (2-13) in Novosibirsk 80-57. They outrebounded Dyn.-GUVD 45-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. UMMC Ekaterinburg brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a quality performance for American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. Vincentian-Spanish center Sancho Lyttle (193-83, college: Houston) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Olaf Lange felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian point guard Miah-Marie Langlois (173-91) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Dyn.-GUVD in the defeat. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for UMMC Ekaterinburg. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Dyn.-GUVD lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Dyn.-GUVD will play against Dynamo Moscow (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
