Regular Season Round 27: Sojuz Zaretchny - Cheboksari 54-64

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Cheboksari (15-8) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (5-20) 64-54 on Tuesday. Cheboksari forced 21 Sojuz Zaretchny turnovers. Strangely Sojuz Zaretchny outrebounded Cheboksari 56-38 including 22 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Andrey Borisov (188-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. Power forward Anton Bogdan (198-86) helped adding 8 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Stanislav Sarafankin (195-93) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Aleksey Tochilkin (198-94) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Sojuz Zaretchny's coach Oleg Filin tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Cheboksari maintains fourth place with 15-8 record. Sojuz Zaretchny lost their fourteenth game in a row. Sojuz Zaretchny at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Cheboksari will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sojuz Zaretchny will play again against Cheboksari (#4) and hope to secure a win.
