Regular Season Round 16: MAFC - Alba 84-108

Very expected game when 13th ranked MAFC (3-12) was smashed by fourth ranked Alba (11-5) in Budapest 108-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. MAFC was better in fourth quarter 30-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 38. They outrebounded MAFC 44-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alba looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. MAFC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Balint Mocsan (193-97) added 18 points in the effort for MAFC. Five Alba and four MAFC players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba moved-up to third place, which they share with ZTE KK and Sopron KC. MAFC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Alba will face KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#10) in Kecskemet in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MAFC will play at home against Kaposvari and hope to win that game.
