Regular Season Round 16: Sopron KC - Falco KC 82-81

Important game to mention about took place in Sopron. Fifth ranked Sopron KC (11-5) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Falco KC (9-7) 82-81 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Falco KC took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sopron KC had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Falco KC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-82. Sopron KC shot 24 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Falco KC only scored seven points from the stripe. Falco KC was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian point guard Hernst Laroche (185-89, college: N.Mexico St., agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. Five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95) scored 21 points. Sopron KC have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with ZTE KK and Alba. Falco KC at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Sopron KC will play against Szedeak (#11) in Szeged in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Falco KC will play on the road against the league's second-placed Atomeromu (#2) in Paks and hopes to get back on the winning track.
