Regular Season Round 14: ELTE-BEAC - ZTE NKK 54-81

Date: January 30, 2016
Rather expected game in Budapest where 10th ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (1-13) was crushed by eighth ranked ZTE NKK (3-11) 81-54. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE NKK. BEAC-Ujbuda was better in second period 10-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BEAC-Ujbuda 43-28 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. ZTE NKK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Power forward Zsofia Licskai (189-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Swingman Petra Pusztai (177-99) replied with 14 points and forward Szilvia Horvath (179-86) added 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for BEAC-Ujbuda. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ZTE NKK maintains eighth position with 3-11 record. BEAC-Ujbuda lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. ZTE NKK's next round opponent will be league's leader MKB Euroleasing in Sopron and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BEAC-Ujbuda will play at home against Atomeromu (#7) and hope to win that game.
