Undefeated leader UMMC Ekaterinburg delivered the fifteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (8-6) 78-40. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Enisey Krasnoyarsk. UMMC Ekaterinburg held Enisey Krasnoyarsk to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.6 percent accuracy of the winners. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 20 Enisey Krasnoyarsk turnovers and outrebounded them 47-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. UMMC Ekaterinburg brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Natalia Vieru (196-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. Swingman Ekaterina Kiryanova (180-90) replied with 12 points and Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (189-94) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Enisey Krasnoyarsk. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg (15-0) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 15 victories in a row. Enisey Krasnoyarsk at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against bottom-ranked Dynamo Moscow (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will play against Energy Ivanovo (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
