Another exciting game was played in Magnitogorsk between eighth ranked Magnitka-Univ. and 5th ranked Sogdiana-Skif where host Magnitka-Univ. (5-17) won against Sogdiana-Skif (13-11) 76-70. Magnitka-Univ. forced 21 Sogdiana-Skif turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Alexey Chupin (200-96) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Magnitka-Univ.'s coach Artur Bigeev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Aleksey Almushev (198-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and guard Mikhail Vershkov (193-89) added 16 points in the effort for Sogdiana-Skif. Magnitka-Univ. maintains eighth place with 5-17 record. Sogdiana-Skif at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Magnitka-Univ. will play against higher ranked Kirov (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sogdiana-Skif will play against Rusichi K. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
