Sogdiana-Skif managed to secure a 6-point victory 81-75 on Thursday. Sogdiana-Skif dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Magnitka-Univ.'s 36. They outrebounded Magnitka-Univ. 41-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Guard Aleksey Almushev (198-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Artem Kazachenko (186-95) chipped in 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) with 23 points and 6 steals and guard Dmitri Pustovoy (188-92) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Magnitka-Univ.'s coach Artur Bigeev rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sogdiana-Skif moved-up to fourth place. Loser Magnitka-Univ. keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Sogdiana-Skif will meet at home higher ranked Rusichi K. (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Magnitka-Univ. will play against Kirov (#5) and hope to secure a win.
