Regular Season Round 17: Alba - KTE-Duna Aszfalt 93-69

Everything went according to plan in Szekesfehervar where fifth ranked Alba (12-5) outscored 10th ranked KTE-Duna Aszfalt (7-10) 93-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. KTE-Duna Aszfalt managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alba dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to KTE-Duna Aszfalt's 44. They outrebounded KTE-Duna Aszfalt 42-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The former international Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Alba players scored in double figures. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian swingman Marko Djerasimovic (198-84, agency: BeoExcell) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Kemal Karahodzic (210-89) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Alba have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with ZTE KK and Sopron KC. KTE-Duna Aszfalt at the other side dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with PVSK Pannon. Alba is looking forward to face Kaposvari (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. KTE-Duna Aszfalt will play against Jaszberenyi and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
