Regular Season Round 18: Sopron KC - Kormend 61-80
Date: February 10, 2016
There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Sopron KC (12-6) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Kormend (12-6) 80-61. The game without a history. Kormend led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kormend outrebounded Sopron KC 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) notched 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Cole Dickerson (201-91, college: USF) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Kormend's coach Teo Cizmic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by swingman Norbert Takacs (197-90, agency: HMS) did not help to save the game for Sopron KC. American swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Kormend moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Alba and Sopron KC. Kormend's next round opponent will be league's leader Atomeromu in Paks and it may be the game of the week. Sopron KC will play on the road against KTE-Duna Aszfalt in Kecskemet and hope to win that game.
