Regular Season Round 18: Chevakata - Enisey 64-39

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk's (9-7) road loss to fifth ranked Vologda-Chevakata (11-6) 39-64 on Wednesday. Vologda-Chevakata held Enisey Krasnoyarsk to an opponent 17.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Vologda-Chevakata forced 21 Enisey Krasnoyarsk turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. American guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Aleksandra Voytko (189-96) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Olga Vorobyeva (184-87, agency: LBM Management) with 11 points and Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (189-94) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vologda-Chevakata maintains fifth position with 11-6 record. Enisey Krasnoyarsk at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Vologda-Chevakata are looking forward to face league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will play against the league's second-placed Nadezhda Orenburg (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
