Regular Season Round 22: Sogdiana-Skif - Rusichi K. 108-95

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rusichi K. (15-11) against fourth ranked Sogdiana-Skif (15-11) on Thursday night. Visiting Rusichi K. was defeated by Sogdiana-Skif in Voronezh 108-95. Sogdiana-Skif dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Rusichi K.'s 44. Sogdiana-Skif forced 26 Rusichi K. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Rusichi K.'s players. Guard Aleksey Almushev (198-90) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Dmitriy Prikhodko (185-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 18 assists. Four Sogdiana-Skif players scored in double figures. Guard Nikolay Zavyalov (188-91) produced 30 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals and forward Anton Belov (202-81) added 29 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sogdiana-Skif have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Rusichi K. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
