The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Dynamo-MGTU (20-4) in Maykop on Friday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Neftekhimik T. (17-5) 76-73. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Center Mikhail Kautin (214-86) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Anton Borisov (197-91) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Neftekhimik T.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Ukrainian center Nikolay Eremin (206-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and forward Ilya Khmara (194-89) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Neftekhimik T. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record having five points less than leader Dynamo-MGTU. Dynamo-MGTU lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with four games lost. Neftekhimik T. are looking forward to face Elbrus Cherk. (#7) in Cherkessk in the next round where they are favorite.
