Regular Season Round 19: Alba - Jaszberenyi 110-89

Very expected game in Szekesfehervar where 14th ranked Jaszberenyi (3-16) was rolled over by fourth ranked Alba (13-6) 110-89. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Jaszberenyi was better in fourth quarter 32-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Jaszberenyi 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Alba players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Jaszberenyi's players. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Mike Caffey (183, college: Long Beach St.) came up with 25 points and 4 assists and center Garrick Sherman (210-90, college: Notre Dame) added 21 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for Jaszberenyi in the defeat. Five Alba and four Jaszberenyi players scored in double figures. Alba maintains fourth place with 13-6 record. Jaszberenyi at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Alba's next round opponent will be PVSK Pannon (#10) in Pecs which should be theoretically another easy game. Jaszberenyi will play on the road against Sopron KC (#6) and hope to win that game.
