Regular Season Round 23: Samara-SGEU - TEMP-SUMZ 66-57

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Samara-SGEU and 5th ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda had identical 11-6 record. This time Samara-SGEU used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Revda 66-57. Point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 assists. Power forward Sergey Toropov (206-89) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Maksim Polyakov (206-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 18 points and naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (212-82) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for TEMP-SUMZ Revda. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samara-SGEU (12-6) moved-up to third place. TEMP-SUMZ Revda at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Samara-SGEU will play against Spartak-Prim. (#8) in Vladivostok in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play on the road against Irkut Irkutsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
