Regular Season Round 19: MAFC - Marso NYKK 123-121

Important game to mention about took place in Budapest. Thirteenth ranked MAFC (5-14) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Marso NYKK (4-15) 123-121 in the fight for the twelfth place. MAFC made 36-of-43 charity shots (83.7 percent) during the game, while Marso NYKK only scored eighteen points from the stripe. MAFC forced 25 Marso NYKK turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Marso NYKK was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Deville Smith (183-91, college: Tenn-Martin) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Tate Unruh (193-90, college: N.Colorado, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Zoran Krstanovic (204-82, agency: HMS) added 23 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Marso NYKK. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. MAFC moved-up to twelfth place. Marso NYKK at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. MAFC will play against higher ranked Falco KC (#7) in Szombathely in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marso NYKK will play at home against Kormend (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
