Regular Season Round 20: PVSK Pannon - Alba 86-88

Tenth-ranked PVSK Pannon (7-13) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Alba (14-6) in Pecs on Friday. The visitors from Szekesfehervar managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But PVSK Pannon won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Alba won last quarter 20-19. They also forced 19 PVSK Pannon turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) chipped in 15 points. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) produced 28 points and 5 assists and naturalized Serbian guard Marko Popadic (189-89) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Alba maintains fourth position with 14-6 record. PVSK Pannon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. Alba will meet at home Sopron KC (#6) in the next round. PVSK Pannon will play against Szolnok (#3) and hope to secure a win.
