Superleague 1 top team - Sakhalin (17-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked Khimky-Podmoskoye (4-14) 88-74. Sakhalin dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Khimky-Podmoskoye's 42. They outrebounded Khimky-Podmoskoye 40-21 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of international Aleksandr Gudumak (203-93, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Aleksey Golyahov (189-84) who added 12 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international center Ruslan Pateev (213-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Alti Sport) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Timofey Yakushin (194-97) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sakhalin have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Sakhalin maintains first position with 17-2 record. Khimky-Podmoskoye lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Sakhalin will play against Samara-SGEU (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Khimky-Podmoskoye will play against Spartak-Prim. (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
