Everything went according to plan in Nyiregyhazi where fifth ranked Kormend (13-7) beat 13th ranked Marso NYKK (4-16) 90-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 16 points after three quarters before their 35-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) who scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Tate Unruh (193-90, college: N.Colorado, agency: Inception Sports) produced 27 points and his fellow American import forward Marcus Ware (203-91, college: Niagara) added 16 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kormend maintains fifth position with 13-7 record, which they share with Sopron KC. Loser Marso NYKK keeps the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Kormend will meet at home league's second-placed ZTE KK in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Marso NYKK will play against KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#9) in Kecskemet and hope to secure a win.
