The game in Magnitogorsk supposed to be quite interesting. 7th ranked Elbrus Cherk. (10-18) played at the court of eighth ranked Magnitka-Univ. (10-20). Magnitka-Univ. smashed Elbrus Cherk. 89-60 on Monday. Magnitka-Univ. forced 22 Elbrus Cherk. turnovers and outrebounded them 44-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Alexandr Terkin (186-95) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Artem Kurinnoy (202-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Magnitka-Univ. players scored in double figures. Magnitka-Univ.'s coach Artur Bigeev felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Pavel Dushenkov (206-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Roman Bazhunaishvili (199-90) added 13 points (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Elbrus Cherk.Magnitka-Univ. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 10-20 record. Elbrus Cherk. at the other side keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost. Magnitka-Univ. are looking forward to face league's leader Dynamo-MGTU in Maykop in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Elbrus Cherk. will have a break next round.
