An interesting game took place in Ekaterinburg where higher ranked UMMC Junior (13-14) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Sparta&K-2 V (9-18) 84-80 on Tuesday. Sparta&K-2 V shot 25 for 38 from the free-throw line, while UMMC Junior only scored nine points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was forward Daria Kurilchuk (179-98) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Ksenia Sharova (178-98) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Viktoriia Zavialova (166-98) produced 17 points and 4 assists and swingman Sabina Abaidullina (181-97) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sparta&K-2 V maintains ninth place with 9-18 record. UMMC Junior at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with MBA-2. Sparta&K-2 V will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UMMC Junior will play again against Sparta&K-2 V (#9) and hope to secure a win.
