Regular Season Round 16: Riva - Winterthur 68-61

There was no surprise in Riva San Vitale where 7th ranked Winterthur (3-13) was defeated by fourth ranked Riva (10-7) 68-61 on Friday. Riva forced 24 Winterthur turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sarah Hansen (178-91, college: FGCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian power forward Julie Seabrook (190-90, college: Colorado) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Nikki Dixon (178-93, college: Clemson) responded with 29 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and her fellow American import guard Heidi Anton (175-90, college: USF) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Riva moved-up to third place, which they share with Aarau. Winterthur lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Riva will meet bottom-ranked Lancy (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Winterthur will have a break next round.
