Regular Season Round 22: MAFC - Kormend 85-90

Date: March 5, 2016
Very expected game when 11th ranked MAFC (6-16) lost on the road to fifth ranked Kormend (14-8) 90-85 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 49-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kormend outrebounded MAFC 50-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. American guard Rashad Anderson (196-83, college: Connecticut) replied with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Adam Kovacs (189-93) added 21 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for MAFC. Kormend maintains fifth position with 14-8 record. Loser MAFC dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Kormend will face Kaposvari (#8) on the road in the next round. MAFC will play against KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#9) in Kecskemet and hope to win that game.
