Regular Season Round 38: Rostov - MBA-2 57-51

Rather expected game when 7th ranked MBA-2 (14-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked BC Rostov (16-18) 57-51. BC Rostov outrebounded MBA-2 48-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Yana Kotova (186-88) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Milana Sumets (185-88, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even 10 points and 7 rebounds by center Nina Glonti (188-97) did not help to save the game for MBA-2. Point guard Yulia Kozik (176-97) added 11 points and 4 steals for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Rostov maintains fifth position with 16-18 record. Newly promoted MBA-2 keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. BC Rostov will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. MBA-2 will play at home against UMMC Junior (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
