Regular Season Round 39: Ladoga SP - Neftyanik 37-71

There was no surprise in St.Petersburg where 10th ranked Ladoga SP (3-28) was crushed by third ranked Neftyanik (19-12) 71-37 on Monday. Neftyanik shot 22 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Ladoga SP only scored four points from the stripe. Neftyanik forced 30 Ladoga SP turnovers and outrebounded them 34-18 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for power forward Kseniya Chinaeva (180-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points. Forward Irina Ostapova (182-86) helped adding 9 points and 5 rebounds. Neftyanik's coach Elena Lazutkina felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Nadezhda Burenkova (174-90) with 9 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and point guard Alena Ageyeva (175-98) scored 7 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Neftyanik. They maintain third place with 19-12 record having six points less than leader Dynamo-2 K. Ladoga SP lost their nineteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 28 lost games. Neftyanik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ladoga SP will play again against Neftyanik (#3) and hope to secure a win.
