Regular Season Round 27: Univ.Surgut - Samara-SGEU 81-74

An interesting game for Universitet-Yugra (15-7) which hosted in Surgut 4th placed Samara-SGEU (14-8). Third ranked Universitet-Yugra managed to get a 7-point victory 81-74. Universitet-Yugra shot 29 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Samara-SGEU only scored eleven points from the stripe. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) who led the winners and scored 19 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Ukrainian point guard Pavlo Burenko (187-90) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Universitet-Yugra players scored in double figures. Power forward Maxim Krivosheev (207-88) came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Dmitriy Arteshin (201-89, agency: Alti Sport) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Samara-SGEU in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universitet-Yugra have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-7 record having four points less than leader Sakhalin. Loser Samara-SGEU keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Universitet-Yugra will meet Ural Ekaterinburg (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samara-SGEU will play against Parma (#7) and hope to secure a win.
