Very important is a road loss of second ranked Novosybirsk (16-6) against fifth ranked Ryazan (14-9) on Tuesday night. Visiting Novosybirsk was defeated by Ryazan in a tough game in Ryazan 67-72. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. Ryazan made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Novosybirsk was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Sergey Zakharov (194-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Guard Iliya Syrovatko (193-88) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Croatian forward Jure Skific (204-88, agency: XL Basketball Agency) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sergey Tokarev (190-85) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Novosybirsk's coach Vladimir Pevnev tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ryazan maintains fifth place with 14-9 record. Novosybirsk at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Ryazan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Novosybirsk will play on the road against Spartak-Prim. in Vladivostok and hopes to get back on the winning track.
