Regular Season Round 25: Szolnok - Kormend 62-75

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Szolnok (19-6) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Kormend (17-8) 75-62. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Szolnok. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. Szolnok managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) contributed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kormend's coach Teo Cizmic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Szolnok. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kormend have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Alba. Defending champion Szolnok still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Atomeromu. Kormend is looking forward to face Falco KC (#7) in Szombathely in the next round. Szolnok will play on the road against KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#9) in Kecskemet and is hoping to win this game.
