Regular Season Round 41: MBA-2 - Neftyanik 57-55

Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Fifth ranked MBA-2 (17-16) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Neftyanik (20-13) 57-55 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Neftyanik. MBA-2 forced 19 Neftyanik turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Elizaveta Bratchikova (190-96) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and center Nina Glonti (188-97) accounted for 4 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Mariya Bunina (178-87) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Kseniya Chinaeva (180-89) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Neftyanik in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. MBA-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted MBA-2 maintains fifth place with 17-16 record. Neftyanik at the other side keeps the third position with 13 games lost. MBA-2 will again play against higher ranked Neftyanik (#3) in Omsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neftyanik will have a break next round.
