Regular Season Round 29: Kirov - Neftekhimik T. 73-78

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kirov. 3rd placed host Kirov (18-13) lost to second ranked Neftekhimik T. (26-6) 78-73. Neftekhimik T. forced 22 Kirov turnovers. Power forward Anatoliy Goritskov (211-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and Nikita Burkov scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Kirov's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Neftekhimik T. have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 26-6 record having 2 victories less than leader Dynamo-MGTU. Kirov lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with 13 games lost. Neftekhimik T. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kirov will play at home against Elbrus Cherk. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
