Regular Season Round 42: MBA-2 - Neftyanik 57-51

The most important game in the last round took place in Moscow between third ranked Neftyanik (20-14) and fifth ranked MBA-2 (18-16) on Saturday night. Neftyanik was defeated by MBA-2 in a tough game on the road 51-57. MBA-2 forced 20 Neftyanik turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Yulia Kozik (176-97) who scored 18 points. Center Nina Glonti (188-97) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Kseniya Chinaeva (180-89) who recorded 7 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Mariya Bunina (178-87) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted MBA-2 maintains fifth position with 18-16 record. Neftyanik at the other side keeps the third place with 14 games lost. MBA-2 are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Ladoga SP (#10) in St.Petersburg in the next round where they are favorite. Neftyanik will play at home against UMMC Junior (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
