Regular Season Round 27: Lugano Tigers - Swiss Central 79-59

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Lugano Tigers (17-10) crushed at home 9th ranked Swiss Central (4-23) 79-59. The game was mostly controlled by Lugano Tigers. Swiss Central was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Swiss Central to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Swiss Central 46-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Axel Louissaint (197-96) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Derek Stockalper (196-84, college: Cal Poly - SLO) chipped in 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (202-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Richard Carter (180-92, college: Drake) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lugano Tigers maintains fifth place with 17-10 record. Swiss Central lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 23 games lost.
