Second Stage Round 3: Kormend - ZTE KK 67-70

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kormend (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by ZTE KK (2-1) 70-67. Kormend trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-70 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard James Kinney (187-90, college: San Jose St., agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. ZTE KK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kormend will play on the road against Szolnok in Szolnok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
