Regular Season Round 21: Winterthur - Lancy 55-65

Lancy has finally registered their first victory this season after 20 consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in , where they defeated Winterthur (3-18) 65-55. The game was mostly controlled by Lancy. Winterthur was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lancy forced 19 Winterthur turnovers. Strangely Winterthur outrebounded Lancy 43-30 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Toia Giggetts (183-92, college: JMU) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side and Malak Ezzakraoui (174-93) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Heidi Anton (175-90, college: USF) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Cinzia Tomezzoli (175-88) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Winterthur in the defeat. Winterthur's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Lancy maintains eighth place with 1-20 record. It was Winterthur's eighth loss in a row. Winterthur at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost.
