Second Stage Round 5: Kaposvari - Sopron KC 86-92

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Kaposvari (2-2) against fourth ranked Sopron KC (2-2) on Saturday night. Host Kaposvari was defeated by Sopron KC in a tough game in Kaposvar 86-92. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Kaposvari won second period 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sopron KC won last quarter 25-20. Kaposvari was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Canadian point guard Hernst Laroche (185-89, college: N.Mexico St., agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals. Five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Naturalized Serbian center Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Roland Hendlein (206-86) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Sopron KC moved-up to third place in Division. Sopron KC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kaposvari will play at home against PVSK Pannon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
