Second Stage Round 7: Jaszberenyi - MAFC 118-92
Date: April 16, 2016
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked MAFC's (1-4) road loss to twelfth ranked Jaszberenyi (4-1) 92-118. The game was mostly controlled by Jaszberenyi. MAFC was better in fourth quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MAFC 41-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jaszberenyi shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by MAFC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Mike Caffey (183, college: Long Beach St.) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Travis Cohn (188-89, college: Jacksonville) accounted for 32 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winning side. Point guard Deville Smith (183-91, college: Tenn-Martin) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rashad Anderson (196-83, college: Connecticut, agency: KBA/Omnia Europe) added 21 points respectively for MAFC in the defeat. Five Jaszberenyi and four MAFC players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jaszberenyi moved-up to eleventh place in Division. MAFC at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
