Regular Season Round 2: Kormend - Kaposvari 83-72

Date: October 12, 2016
Very important is a road loss of Kaposvari (1-1) against Kormend (2-0) on Wednesday night. Visiting Kaposvari was defeated by Kormend in Kormend 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. Kaposvari was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Kaposvari outrebounded Kormend 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) notched 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Devon Saddler (183-91, college: Delaware) supported him with 21 points. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Kaposvari. Swingman Gergely Baki (193-87) added 16 points for the guests. Kormend will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kaposvari will play at home against Jaszberenyi (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
