Regular Season Round 3: MAFC - Alba 70-81

Alba delivered the third consecutive victory. This time they beat MAFC (0-3) 81-70 in Budapest. It looked good early as MAFC took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Alba had a 26-7 second period charge getting the lead and MAFC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-81. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MAFC to just 7 points in second quarter. Alba forced 21 MAFC turnovers. It was a good game for Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. India-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Croatia center Matija Poscic (206-85, college: De Paul) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for MAFC. Four MAFC players scored in double figures. Alba will play against Sopron KC (#5) on the road in the next round. MAFC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Budapest to the arena Vasas.
