Regular Season Round 3: Szolnok - Sopron KC 85-78

The game between Sopron KC (2-2) and Szolnok (2-0) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Sopron KC was defeated by Szolnok in a tough game in Szolnok 78-85. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 46-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Szolnok looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who scored 25 points and 7 assists. Montenegrin Aleksa Popovic (201-87) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) who recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Szolnok is looking forward to face Falco KC (#8) in Szombathely in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sopron KC will play at home against Alba and is hoping to win this game.
