Regular Season Round 4: ZTE NKK - Vasas Akademia 71-50

Date: October 19, 2016
An interesting game was also a 21-point tough road defeat of 5th ranked Vasas Akademia in a game in Zalaegerszeg versus ZTE NKK (#8) 71-50. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE NKK. Vasas Akademia managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ZTE NKK forced 21 Vasas Akademia turnovers. The winners were led by international point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) who scored that evening 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU, agency: Interperformances) supported her with 22 points. ZTE NKK's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by forward Panka Dul (177-0) did not help to save the game for Vasas Akademia. American center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) added 2 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for lost side. ZTE NKK (2-1) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Miskolc and Atomeromu. Loser Vasas Akademia dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Cegledi EKK. ZTE NKK will meet BEAC-Ujbuda (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Vasas Akademia will play against the league's leader PEAC-Pecs and hope to secure a win.
