Very predictable result when Monthey (2-0) beat on the road Winterthur (0-2) 85-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-68. Monthey outrebounded Winterthur 44-24 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Winterthur's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Four Monthey players scored in double figures. Monthey's coach Niksa Bavcevic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Rashad Whack (190-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and Sri Lanka Vidura Disanayake (181-95) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Monthey will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Winterthur will play on the road against Massagno (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
