The game in Winterthur was also quite interesting. 4th placed Aarau (2-2) played at the court of seventh ranked Winterthur (2-2). Winterthur managed to secure a 5-point victory 63-58 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Winterthur forced 24 Aarau turnovers. American guard Sarah Halejian (175-92, college: Yale) nailed 36 points (!!!) for the winning side and forward Miriam Baumann (180-93, college: Quest) accounted for 5 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Niya Johnson (173-93, college: Baylor) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Lindsey Doucette (190-94, college: Mass.-Lowell) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Aarau in the defeat. Winterthur moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Aarau. Winterthur will meet at home Pully (#7) in the next round. Aarau will play against the league's second-placed Helios in Vetroz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
