Regular Season Round 4: Vasas - MAFC 93-85

Date: October 25, 2016
Vasas' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat MAFC (0-4) 93-85 on Tuesday. MAFC was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Vasas, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 assists and the other American import forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Vasas' coach Bulcsu Sarosi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by India-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) did not help to save the game for MAFC. American point guard Deville Smith (183-91, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Two Points) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Four Vasas and five MAFC players scored in double figures. Vasas (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was MAFC's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Vasas will meet higher ranked Sopron KC (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MAFC will play against the league's leader Szolnok (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
