Regular Season Round 5: Kormend - ZTE KK 94-76

Very expected game when 10th ranked ZTE KK (1-2) was defeated on the road by leader Kormend (3-0) 94-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. ZTE KK was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. (193-91, college: Ohio St.) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Devon Saddler (183-91, college: Delaware) chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Lithuania center Adomas Drungilas (203-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard Emanuel Ubilla (188-86, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Court Side) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ZTE KK's coach Tamas Bencze rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kormend have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser ZTE KK keeps the tenth position with two games lost. Kormend will face PVSK Pannon (#6) in Pecs in the next round. ZTE KK will play on the road against Szolnok (#4) in Szolnok and hope to win that game.
