Date: October 30, 2016
Fifth ranked Sopron KC (4-2) crushed at home 11th ranked Vasas (1-3) by 24 points 95-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-71. Sopron KC shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized Serbian center Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sopron KC moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Vasas dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Sopron KC will have a break next round. Vasas will play at home against Jaszberenyi (#8) and hope to win that game.
