Very expected game in Luzern where 7th ranked Massagno (1-2) was defeated by third ranked Swiss Central (3-1) 76-69. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 22-11 last quarter charge of Massagno cut the lead to 76-69 at the end of the game. Quite impressive performance for Serbian guard Nemanja Kovacevic (194-85) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bulgaria forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-91) replied with 9 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Reggie Evans (194-89, college: Metro St.) added 16 points in the effort for Massagno. Four Massagno players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swiss Central maintains third position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader Geneve Lions. Massagno at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Swiss Central's next round opponent will be Fribourg (#4) on the road. Massagno will play against Lugano Tigers (#5) and hope to win that game.
