Regular Season Round 7: PINKK-Pecsi - ZTE NKK 63-71

Bottom-ranked PINKK-Pecsi is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to seventh ranked ZTE NKK (4-2) 71-63 on Sunday evening. PINKK-Pecsi trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-71 at the end of the game. ZTE NKK made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 PINKK-Pecsi turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) accounted for 11 points for the winning side. Serbian power forward Nevena Markovic (193-93, college: IUPUI) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenia guard Katarina Ristic (170-84, agency: Two Points) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for PINKK-Pecsi in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ZTE NKK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with UNIQA Eurol. and Miskolc. Loser PINKK-Pecsi still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with ELTE-BEAC and MTK. ZTE NKK will meet at home MTK (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PINKK-Pecsi will play against Miskolc and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
